Joe Nicolosi

Joe Nicolosi is an Austin-based filmmaker whose primary interests include Legos, Wizards, and Horror Movies. He is a multi-year alumni of SXSW for his film bumpers and short films. In 2009 he won the ‘George Lucas Award’ for his short film “Star Wars: Retold” and was named one of the ’25 Faces of Independent Film’ in 2011.

Joe was born and raised in the suburbs of New York City. He attended Ithaca college in upstate New York and studied Film, Theater and Writing. During college, he was involved with Channel 102 in NYC, producing an episodic webseries called Running From Johnny Law as well as several other original pilots.

After college in upstate New York, he relocated to Austin, Texas to continue perusing filmmaking and animation.

Joe was formerly employed as a Graphic Designer/Video Editor at The Alamo Drafthouse, and as production manager for the SXSW New Media Department.
